Twelve years after his last release on Lovezone Records, De Fontaine opens a new chapter with a more mature, refined and deeply atmospheric three-track EP.
Introduction
Some returns are about looking back. Others are about revealing how much has changed.
Twelve years after his last release on Lovezone Records in 2014, De Fontaine returns with The Green Illusion, a new three-track EP that reflects time, experience and a renewed artistic maturity.
Rather than attempting to recreate a previous moment, De Fontaine approaches this new release with a more measured and assured musical language. The compositions breathe, evolve gradually and leave space for texture, melody and atmosphere to develop naturally.
The result is a record that feels both familiar and transformed.
Twelve Years Later
A twelve-year absence inevitably changes the meaning of a return.
During that time, musical landscapes evolve, production techniques change and artists themselves continue to develop away from the expectations created by earlier work.
With The Green Illusion, De Fontaine does not appear interested in simply reconnecting with the past.
Instead, the EP suggests an artist returning with greater perspective — more attentive to space, nuance and progression, and more confident in allowing a composition to reveal itself over time.
There is maturity here not because the music has become more complicated, but because it knows when not to be.

The Green Illusion
Across its three tracks, The Green Illusion develops an immersive and contemplative atmosphere in which subtle movement becomes an essential part of the listening experience.
Textures evolve gradually. Melodic elements emerge and disappear. Arrangements unfold without unnecessary urgency.
Rather than searching for immediate impact, the EP favours depth, emotion and progression.
The music invites the listener to remain inside it long enough for its details to become apparent.
That sense of patience gives the record much of its identity.
Tracklist
- 01The Green Illusion
- 02Light Water
- 03Nae The Legend
Together, the three pieces form a coherent journey while retaining their own individual character.
The Green Illusion therefore feels less like a collection of separate tracks than the beginning of a new artistic chapter.
A Return to Lovezone Records
De Fontaine’s relationship with Lovezone Records reaches back more than a decade.
His return in 2026 carries particular significance for the label: it reconnects part of Lovezone’s history with the direction the label is taking today.
Since its beginnings, Lovezone has remained interested in electronic music that exists beyond immediate trends — music driven by atmosphere, personality and emotional depth.
The Green Illusion fits naturally within that philosophy.
At the same time, the EP does not rely on nostalgia. Its strength lies precisely in the distance travelled between De Fontaine’s earlier work and the artist heard today.
The Green Illusion is more than a return.
It is the sound of an artist re-entering the Lovezone catalogue with a musical language that has evolved, matured and become more nuanced over the years.
